roman Blinds
Classical and elegant, Rolletna roman blinds are feature in themselves. Roman blinds fold up or down and create a distinct feature of the horizontal fold line. The fold line can be kept subtle with by a simple pleat or a timber batten can be attached to provide an oriental classic look.
Roman blinds are typically specified by designers where a feature is required of the blind and fabric. Roman blinds can be fitted over the window to achieve a good block out solution for bedrooms. Alternatively roman blinds can be fitted into a window reveal. Roman blinds will fold up vertically and when fully retracted, all the folded panels will sit neatly behind the top most fabric panel of the roman blind.
When putting roman blinds side by side we always consider how to make the fold line line-up; not so much of an issue if the windows are the same height however it is an issue if they are not.

When fitted to the face of the window and allowing extra fabric for the width, a reasonable block out can be achieved that will minimise light entering the room. Please note that 100% block out cannot be achieved. Typically, if a full block system is required, most customers choose a roller blind with side guides. |
| Heat Transfer: |
Depending on fabrics and whether or not a backing fabric is used, heat transfer can be controlled quite well so that the inside temperature is cooler in summer and warmer in winter than otherwise would be the case without any window covering. |
| Shapes: |
Roman blinds are suited to polygon shapes ie squares or rectangles. With corner windows where the glass runs right to the corner, roman blinds head board levels can be offset to achieve minimal gap in the corner. If roman blinds head boards are set at the same level for adjacent corners, there will be gap. The size of this gap will depend on the type of fabric and height or drop. |
