Blockout fabrics provide 100% sun block. When used, a blockout fabric will provide privacy and darken a room. If a white coloured backing is used a blockout fabric is very effective for controlling heat.

Most people tend to use a blockout fabric in bedrooms both for privacy as well as reducing the amount of visible light that enters a room.

If the requirement is to stop all light from entering the room, rolletna can offer a solution using either a full block roller blind or a heavy weighted curtain. Roman blinds face fitted to a widow are also good option but they will not block 100% of the light.

Blockout fabric come with an acrylic back that is typically white or cream in colour. Some blockouts will have a matching backing that is a similar colour of the fabric, this can be good for street presentation however if it is a darker colour, the fabric will actually attract heat to the internal living space.

Blockout fabrics are suitable for roller blinds, roman blinds, panel glides, full block roller blinds and some curtains. Curtains tend to use a separate fabric backing to provide blockout and UV prtrection
