The ARK - An A-grade office building in North Sydney – Dec 2010
Working in cooperation with the architect Rice Daubney, the building owners Investa and the tenants Vodafone Australia, Rolletna was asked to provide a solution for occupational concerns of sun glare that directly impacted the workspace.
Complicated by non-conventional window shapes and slopes, Rolletna came up with an approach to provide window coverings that controlled the glare and provided an operable solution on the following types of windows:
Operable blinds on Trapezoid-shaped windows
Operable blinds on Outward-sloping windows
Operable blinds on Inward-sloping windows
Coverings to Trapezoid-shaped sloping windows.
Rolletna used environment friendly Trevia fabric that complies with European standards for glare-reduction in the workspace. By working in conjunction with European mills, a customised roll width was produced in order to minimise fabric wastage and therefore minimising the costs for the tenant. This approach saved the client almost 25% compared to other competitive quotes. The fabrics and systems also supported the buildings Green Star rating.
